No one said raising a child was an easy task. We all want the best for our child and also want to protect them from any distress or trauma. In today’s fast-paced life accompanied by the high levels of pollution, worrying about your child’s health is inevitable.

So what can one do to make sure that their child is protected from the endless attacks of germs and viruses? No wonder, adopting few healthy habits is essential to give your child’s immune system a boost.

Intake Of Fruits and Vegetables

Try to get your child to eat the required five servings of fruits and vegetables per day. While we all know it can be quite a difficult task, experts say that certain fruits and veggies contain immunity-boosting phytonutrients. These help boost the body’s production of white blood cells, which fights off infection. Try tempting your child to eat fruits and veggies, by trying out innovative recipes like berry and strawberry smoothies. Research says that a diet rich in phytonutrients if taken early on, can even help protect your child from chronic diseases in later stages of life.

Better Sleep Patterns

While we all know the importance of sleep for adults, the same is even more important for children. Experts believe that a newborn may need as much as 18 hours of sleep in a day. Toddlers and preschoolers may require around 10-12 hours of sleep. If your child is in daycare, then all the activity may make it difficult for them to nap in between. Try getting your child to bed earlier if they don’t take naps during the day.

If you want your child to exercise, you may also need to join them. We suggest, instead of just urging them to go out and play, you should join them as well. While you want to build your child’s immune system, you also don’t want to overexpose them to too many germs. Try to inculcate the right habits in them early on such as – washing hands with soaps before and after meals, after- a trip outside, after using the washroom, after playing with pets and so on. You may also carry hand wipes and sanitizers with you while going out. Bright colored hand towels or your child’s favorite cartoon character shaped liquid soap dispensers will encourage them to wash their hands regularly.

Besides the above, there are many other habits you may need to incorporate in yourself when your child grows up. For instance, if you or your spouse smokes then it’s best to quit or stop doing them around your kids, as passive smoking has fatal effects. Finally, before using any measures for your child’s health and safety, it is also important to consult a pediatrician.

  • Germs protection and clean water must be taken care for kids health, thses are major factors that spread infection and just because kids have low immunity they caught easily by infection.
