# Simple Calories Burned Calculator

A Calorie is a unit of energy supplied by food. Overweight and obesity result from an energy imbalance. This involves eating too many calories and not getting enough physical activity. All foods contain calories regardless of its class (carbohydrate, fat, protein, etc.). Calories burned during exercise is influenced by body weight, workout intensity, conditioning level and metabolism. Metabolic Rate is the rate at which the body burns up calories. A body that consumes 3000 calories /day, and burns 3000 calories / day will stay at the same weight.
