Intensive health care is not for everyone. Not everyone can handle the several time-consuming things that goes into getting that perfect, radiant skin. If you do have the time(and money) to spare, an expensive dermatologist might just work for you. But for a majority of us, it is hardly the option.
If you’re anything like me, you probably would rather watch a movie or stay home and relax instead. But that doesn’t mean you should deprive yourself of decent skin care. There are a few quick regimes that will take little effort, a few products and very little of your time. With credit card offers on healthkart and some will power, we could get through this together!
Avoid the Sun
The sun has many great things with Vitamin D among others but as it turns out, the big ball of fire isn’t all that great for your skin. Especially when too much exposure to the sun is a known cause for wrinkles, spots and even skin cancer. If you live in the sunnier cities in India, try to avoid going out in the sun, particularly in the summer. The thumb rule is to avoid the sun during it’s peak hours; 10 am to 2 pm. If you absolutely have to go out, use a decent sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 15.
No Alcohol and Cigarettes
No brainer? Right? It is perfectly understandable that your lifestyle choices and your personal habits should be out of scope of these tips. But as much as we would like to exclude them, the effect of cutting down on alcohol and cigarettes is too much to ignore. If you can’t quit smoking, you might want to consider cutting it down. Considering the visible changes in your skin that you will notice within a short period of time, you might even be motivated to quit it altogether.
Surprise! Your diet plays a very important role in what your skin looks like. A healthy diet will not only help you have a great and energetic lifestyle, but also will help you in maintaining a glowing skin. By simply adding a lot of fruits and vegetables to your diet and balancing it out with some lean protein and whole grain, you could get yourself the skin you desire. A diet rich in Vitamin-C is said to help fight acne. Add some citrus fruits to your daily dose of vitamins. Most importantly and we can’t stress this enough – avoid overly processed and refined carbs and unhealthy fats as much as possible.
Basically, ease off on the burgers, biryani and stay away from the nearest pizza joint.
Care For Your Skin
This is the difficult part that may actually require a decent amount of effort. Contrary to the myth, it is actually bad to wash your face too many times with soap or a facewash. This deprives the skin of the oils it needs to protect itself and keep it moisturized. You can always splash your face with water but limit the soap to only your bathing time. Also it important is to use warm not hot water for bath or showers. Moisturize your skin if you have dry skin.
Who knew? Happy people look better for a very good reason. Stress can cause limitless problems to the skin starting from increased sensitivity and acne to more severe skin diseases. The absolute worst thing you could possibly do is get stressed out about your skin. Instead, work on reducing your stress, take breaks and have fun. Doing this might have more impact than you think is possible.
